Because the economy is in such terrible shape consumers have been reluctant to spend. Retailers selling ski equipment have been forced to lower prices as a result. Retailers were hoping for a strong holiday shopping spree on the part of consumers, but that expectation was not met.

Consumers with cash on hand will be able to take advantage of low prices on ski equipment. Equipment prices will be lower as the season reaches its midpoint. In addition, if weather conditions for skiing are poor in a particular area deals will be readily available.

Skiers will be able to stock up on new ski equipment. Important items to have include skis and poles. Other accessories that make skiing more enjoyable include goggles and outerwear.
