Because snowboard bindings are the only thing connecting the snowboarder to the board, it's important for safety and peace of mind for the snowboarder to know he has a good set. Learn as much as possible about the various types and styles before making a purchase. Ask friends and fellow boarders what they prefer and do research on the Internet as well.

The most popular form of snowboard bindings for soft boots is the two strap set up. This is also known as a rear entry set up. The majority of snowboard bindings with soft boots use this system. The other kind of system it involves step bindings, but these are not readily available unless used with hard boots.

Snowboard bindings come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. The size is determined by the size of the boot. Manufacturers binding sizes will vary, so consumers should double-check they are purchasing the right binding for their boots.
